Originally from India, Gautam is a varied artist who works with multiple mediums and often likes to experiment with his style and technique. Many of the ideas and concepts that he usually paints or draws are visions that he explores through lucid dreaming, meditation and vision journeys. With a background in engineering and the sciences, his works  often explore and provoke the idea of bridging the logical mind with the mystical aspects of existence. In short, his artistic pursuit could be summarized as a constant process of self-reflection and inquiry into the nature of things.

 

Some of the artists that have inspired him along his artistic journey so far include Alex Grey, Salvador Dali, Jofra Bosschart, M.C Escher, Zdzisław Beksiński, Ernst Fuchs and De Es Schwertberger. The art styles that he is influenced and fascinated by are fantastic realism, surrealism, visionary art and abstract expressionism.

 

Tools of the trade are varied but primarily include Acrylics, Oils, Charcoal, Ink, Coloured Pencils and Pens. Digital works are created on a Wacom / Android tablet.
